To all our customers:
As you may know, a few days after the March 11th earthquake and tsunami that ravaged Eastern Japan, we launched a program to raise funds to assist those hit hardest by this disaster. It was a somewhat unique effort, in that we essentially demanded that our customers help contribute by raising prices on all our products by 2% for two weeks, and donating those extra revenues to the Japanese Red Cross.
In addition, we match-funded the same amount from our regular revenues, and through this effort, we're very happy to announce that on April 1, we were able to donate ¥1.94 million yen (about $23,000) to the Japanese Red Cross.
I was thrilled when, even though we raised our prices a bit at the start of the program, we continued to see solid orders from our customers. The support you all showed, both through many direct messages of encouragement, and by your use of our services has made this contribution possible, and will make a solid difference for families in Japan who have lost everything they had.
Given the unprecedented scale of the devastation, many experts are predicting that this tragedy will be the costliest the world has ever seen. So every contribution helps, no matter the amount! Our campaign has now ended, but we encourage everyone to make contributions on their own as well. You can donate directly to the Japanese Red Cross via PayPal on their web site at the URL below.
