While the US Army relied on its tough GMC CCKW truck to haul supplies to the front, the Soviets relied on the 1.5 ton capacity GAZ-AA "Polutorka" (one and a half in Russian) to haul theirs. First manufactured in 1932, the Polutorka would finish the war as the most produced truck in the world. It also became a legend along with the T-34 and Katysusha rocket launcher thanks to its stubborn ruggedness, ease of maintenance, and excellent all-terrain abilities. Zvezda's kit of this Russian legend does it justice with crisp moldings and a nicely detailed engine. Tires are molded in black styrene. The simple decal sheet provides serial numbers for two vehicles.
