1/350 IJN Destroyer Akizuki 1944 Ver.
Code: TRPMCT102 Series: 1/350 Scale Warship![]() |
Often misidentified as a cruiser, the Imperial Japanese Navy Destroyer Akizuki ("Autumn Moon") class was the largest and arguably most successful class of destroyers in the IJN fleet, trading torpedo firepower for much-needed AA firepower in a hull 50 feet longer and 700 tons heavier than its closest rivals. The Akizuki met its fate at the torpedoes of the US submarine Halibut during the Battle of Cape Engano, sinking on October 25, 1944.
This Monochrome/Trumpeter kit of the Akizuki depicts the ship as it appeared in 1944. A full-hull kit with drydock style stand. Includes photo-etched metal detail parts.
