1/144 IJN Aichi Type 99 (Val) Div Bomber 11 Pearl Harbor

The lastest 1/144 Trumpeter kit (in a Monochrome box for the Japanese market) is this pair of D3A1 or Type 99 Carrier Dive Bombers. The kits are identical, featuring recessed panel lines, tiny seats for the cockpit, separate dive brakes, bomb racks and bombs, a crisply-molded engine front and a clear one-piece canopy. Decals are provided for 3 airplanes, the colorful BI-231 off the Souryuu (shown in the box art), the overall gray (concrete, green-gray, whatever!) AI-201 off the Akagi (also shown in the box art) and the overall gray AII-250 off the Kaga. All three aircraft participated in the Pearl Harbor attack. Additional red numbers are included if you wish to model another aircraft.
