Trumpeter's latest big Spitfire offering is this Mk.VI. The Mk.VI was a high-altitude version with the main mission of attempting to deal with the German reconaissance verions of the Ju86. Basically, this is a Mk.V with uprated engine, four-bladed prop and extended wing tips.
Trumpeter has included a new sprue of parts with their Mk.V kit to supply the new prop and wingtips, although you will have to cut off the old wingtips yourself. Study the drawings carefully to make sure you cut on the correct line!
Markings are included for two aircraft, AB534 and BR579. BR579 carries the fuselage codes ON H and has smaller, "low vis" roundels as compared to AB534, but both are finished in the same Dark Sea Grey and Dark Green over Light Sea Grey paing scheme.
Recommended for those looking for something a little out-of-the-ordinary for their Very Large Spitfire shelf.
