Assembly Guide:Skill LevelCement (Y/N)Paint (Y/N)
Product Overview:This item is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit. It requires both cement and painting to complete or use.

Trumpeter continues their 1/32 series with another truly legendary and historically important aircraft - the P-40B. The P-40B was the aircraft that equipped the legendary Flying Tigers, as well as being the aircraft that George Welch and Ken Taylor flew to confront the IJNAF over Pearl Harbor, scoring America's first air-to-air kills of World War II. This kit is a true "must" for 1/32 airplane builders.

The kit features a VERY nicely detailed engine, well-done cockpit, and attnetion to detail around the landing gear and flaps (although curiously no mention of placing them open is shown in the instructions). Unfortunately, as designed only the top cowl panel is removable, meaning most of the engine detail won't be visible! Time to break out the razor saw...

Photoetched parts are included for the harness buckles, gunsight rudder hinge and oil coolers. Only the rudder is movable, the other control surfaces have conventional tabs holding them in place. Decals are for an RAF airplane and a USAAC P-40 of the 18th Pursuit Squadron. Sorry, no Flying Tigers markings from this Chinese manufacturer!
