The LCM (Landing Craft Mechanized) was used as a tank-carrying landing craft in WWII. It also can carry personnel and equipment in its large cargo space. On D-Day 1944, an engineer assault team was transported, instead of tanks, to break up obstacles on the beach. In landing operations in the Pacific Theater and the Rhine-crossing operation in ETO, this transport played a major role. Trumpeter's kit is a full hull model measuring 435mm long x121mm wide when completed, in 1/35 scale. It consists of a very large one-shot hull with cargo interior and exterior detail, including screws and rudders. Not only the USN version, but the Royal Navy version can be built as well. Some details of the self-defence .50 MG is included with a nice photo-etched set. This is certainly a kit of which now-middle-aged AFV modelers dreamt in their youth! No tanks or figures included.
