1/350 IJN Light Cruiser Mikuma

The IJN light cruiser Mikuma is somewhat famous for its unusual fate, suffering a collision with its sister ship, the Mogami, as it was taking evasive maneuvers to avoid a submarine attack during the Battle of Midway. Damaged in the accident, the Mikuma was found the next day by aircraft from the USS Enterprise and was sunk under a barrage of bombs.

Tamiya follows up on its fantastic kit of the Mogami with this release of the Mikuma...very similar to the Mogami, but retaining the rear gun turrets rather than having the flight deck added, as was done to the Mogami. Like that great kit, the Mikuma can be built as either a full-hull or a waterline model, and includes parts for the rear armament in place of the flight deck. A display stand is included for the full-hull version. Instructions in Japanese, English, German, and French, with a large full-color painting and marking guide.
