1/100 Fiat G. 91 R1/R4

After Tamiya took the armor modeling world by storm and made 1/35 the standard, they attempted to introduce a new standard for aircraft models with a series of 1/100 and 1/50 scale aircraft. While this made sense for a metric nation, 1/72 and 1/48 were already established as the dominant scales for airplanes, and Tamiya finally converted to those scales.

Tamiya has now re-released some kits from that series. This kit features recessed panel lines and basic detail, not that bad at all when one considers the scale and the age of this kit. Decals are included for four aircraft: an G.91 of the Frecce Tricolori Italian Aerobatic team, another G.91 in standard Italian AF markings, a G.91 R1 of the Italian AF, and a G.91 R4 of the Greek AF. Parts are included to build all three airframe variations.
