1/48 Gloster Meteor F.3

It was a long wait, but Tamiya has finally followed-up the F.1 with the better-engined version of the Meteor, the F.3. 210 of these Rolls-Royce Derwent engined craft were built, and most of the remained in service for several years after the war, being replaced in front-line squadrons by the F.4 in 1948. Changes from the F.1, besides the engines, were the sliding canopy, airbrakes and bigger fuel capacity. The first 15 examples built had the same Welland engines as the F.1, however. Tamiya's kit is, as usual, a near-perfect replica and includes clear engine nacelle parts to show of the inner structure of the engines, parts for which are also provided.
