1/35 Battle Tank B1 bis (German Type)

The French B1 bis heavy tank was quite advanced for its time at the beginning of WWII, but with the fall of France many ended up in the hands of the German Army, where they were modified and pressed into service against the Allies.

Tamiya has added a sprue of new parts and decals to its excellent French B1 bis kit to create this captured German version. The new parts include a different commander's cupola with a hatched roof, a shot-trap blocking piece of concrete armor, a German crew figure, standard German on-vehicle pioneer tools and fittings, and more. Decals are provided for multiple vehicles. The rest of the kit is the same superb offering as the previous French version, including metal chains and a fantastic set of click-together individual link tracks. It's nice to see Tamiya offering variations of its excellent kits...could a B1 bis Flammpanzer be far behind?
