Tamiya's first French tank model in their 1/35 Military Miniature series is the latest MBT: the Leclerc (series 2). The actual tank was thoroughly researched by Tamiya's native French staffer. The smart form of the turret represented by the modular armor unit was reproduced for the model with sophisticated CAD/CAM techniques. Series 2 is characterized externally by the air conditioner unit for the computer on top of the turret, and the thick gun barrel with a thermal sleeve. The road wheels are made of die-cast metal. Transparent parts for periscopes, markers and lenses are includedas well. One commander figure, and four sets of markings (three NATO schemes and one desert scheme) are included for a superb finish.
