1/35 U.S. M4 Sherman (Early Prod.)

The M4 Sherman was the key to the Allies' victory. This medium tank had a moderate dual-purpose gun and armor, so their opposition was futile against the German Panthers and Tigers at the front. But the reason for its success lay in the ability to mass-produce a superbly reliable machine. The US produced more M4 than needed, and provided the excess to other Allied countries. The M4 was the first model of the series with a welded hull. The kit shares the lower hull, wheels and suspension parts with Tamiya's M4A3 (TAM35122), but most of the parts are newly tooled. The moldings are of typical excellent Tamiya quality. New sprockets and spoke-type road wheels are included. Also, many tank crew's personal belongings such as bags, helmets, cans and boxes loaded on the tank, characteristic of US tanks, are provided as well. Three additional tank crew figures (one complete and two half-bodied) are included. Tracks are cementable rubber band type.
