1/48 German Mtl.SPW. Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.D Armored Halftr

The 251 series of halftracks was the workhorse of the German army during WWII, playing a wide variety of roles and appearing in many variations. The Hanomag 251/1 Ausf. D version featured simplified body construction with fewer armor panels, with an ample engine that gave the 8-ton vehicle a speed of 53kph and a range of 300 kilometers. About 10,000 Ausf.Ds were built by war's end.

Another fine release in Tamiya's ever-expanding universe of 1/48 armor kits! The detail is exquisite, with a finely recreated fighting compartment and and driver's area interior, detailed plastic tires, and injection-molded link-and-length tracks. No die-cast chassis part is included this time. Also includes two crew figures, accessories, and markings for three vehicles.
