The KV-I was a nightmare for the German anti-tank and tank gun crews in 1941. Its thick armor easily deflected the German 37mm and 50mm armor-piercing rounds, and its 76mm dual-purpose gun proved extremely dangerous. Here Tamiya has depicted the 1940 model with a welded turret and additional armor bolted to the turret; this is the second vehicle from the KV-I family in Tamiya's 1/48 tank kit lineup. The model has the series-standard die-cast metal chassis and link-and-length injection plastic tracks with realistic sag molded in.
