Space Runaway Ideon Perfect Establishment Data

Here's an interesting book that offers an extensive collection of "Space Runaway Ideon" illustrations and design sketches for fans of this classic anime series. The softcover book begins with four art collections: Cover Collection of Official Book drawn by Tomonori Kogawa; Character Art Collection by Tomonori Kogawa; Advertising Poster Art Collection by Tomonori Kogawa, Yuuichi Higuchi, Mitsuki Nakamura and Hiroshi Onishi; and Mechanic Art Collection by Yuuichi Higuchi, Mitsuki Nakamura, Aibou Tanaka, and Hiroshi Onishi. There are also color samples of the characters and mecha from the classic series, as well as a look at the Soul of Chogokin Ideon. A large portion of the book is devoted to black-and-white design sketches of characters, mecha, and backgrounds, with a short description for each sketch. This is followed by in-depth interviews with Yoshiyuki Tomino (director and creator), Tomonori Kogawa (character designer), and Yuuichi Higuchi (mecha designer). Text is in Japanese.
