To paraphrase the fine folks at Revell on this cool kit of the Prinz Eugen:
The heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, with a maximum displacement of 18,750 tons, was commissioned on August 1, 1940 at the Krupp Germaniawerft in Kiel. After having sunk the Hood in collaboration with the Bismarck, it made a successful breakthrough from Brest on February 11, 1942. Repaired after a torpedo damaged her stern on February 23, 1942, she was deployed to shell advancing Russian troop concentrations along the Baltic coast. At the end of the War, she was handed over to US Navy, and was sunk on December 22, 1946 during the atomic bomb tests at Bikini atoll.
Model details:
This model of the Prinz Eugen will measure 29.5cm long when completed.
