Launched in 1936, the 16,200-ton displacement Admiral Graf Spee was one of a class of German warships originally built as battleships but later classified as heavy cruisers. the Admiral Graf Spee served as fleet flagship, sinking British merchant ships in the Atlantic until she herself was hunted by the British fleet in the South Atlantic. Thinking she was trapped with no chance of escape, her crew scuttled her in December of 1939.
Pit-Road's all-new kit of the Graf Spee can be built as a waterline or full-hull model, and includes a nice stand to display the full-hull version. Model depicts the Graf Spee as she appeared in 1937. Measures 26.6cm long when assembled. A joint development with Trumpeter.
This release of the kit includes photo-etched metal detail parts.
