The Heavy Torpedo Cruiser is an obsolete idea in the world of modern naval weapon systems, but Russia resurrected the idea with new weaponry: anti-surface ship missiles (SSM). This Slava-class cruiser has 16 launcher tubes for SS-N-12 SSM, giving the ship a distinctive appearance as a hard attacker -- although western military experts criticize the vulnerability of this "missile-forest" display on board.
