Hasegawa follows their beautiful 1/32 190D-9 with an equally exquisite A-8 model. This kit shares a great deal in common with the D-9, as one would expect. Hasegawa has basically done what Focke-Wulf did, but in reverse! Kit includes all new fuselage, cowl and engine parts, as well as a new instrument panel to correctly represent the A-8 panel. The engine and cockpit are both extremely well done. A correct style of centerline pylon and drop tank are also included. The outer wing panels have the same separate inserts for weapons as the D-9 kit. This kit includes the underwing bulges for both the 20mm and 30mm equipped versions, although the instructions only call for the standard 20mm armament. Still, with some minor scratchbuilding (30mm gun barrels, added armor around the cockpit) and new decals, you could easily build a Rammjaeger variant, or if you bought the D-9 "Rudel" release and didn't use the bulged canopy or underwing bomb pylons, an F-8! (Although one is sure to be released soon enough - but why wait!) Definitely a "must-have" for Wurger fans.
Decals are included for two aircraft: Hans Dortenmann's "Red 1" of 2/JG 54 with interesting artwork (shown on boxtop) and Rudolf Artner's "White 10" of 9/JG 5 "Eismeer" in Norway.
