Hasegawa continues their outstanding 1/48 Harrier series with the Night Attack version. This was the second US version introduced, and features a pod on top of the nose with a forward looking infra-red camera, a redesigned cockpit with two multi-function displays and enlarged heads-up display, an elongated scoop on the aft spine for cooling the increased avionics, and added chaff/flare buckets on the spine. This new kit includes all the parts needed to build an accurate Night Attack Harrier, with markings for two airplanes: a very colorful bird from VMA-311 in 1998 with an all-black vertical stabilizer decorated with Sylvester the Cat riding a bomb and silhouetted against a bright red heart. Optional markings are also included for this aircraft in 1999 when a colorful and nasty-looking sharkmouth was added to the nose! The second airplane is from VMA-513 and while all the markings are lo-vis, they are quite distinctive: a stylized owl on the rudder, together with -513's old WW2 emblem of a crescent moon, star and cloud, the squadron logo under the windscreen, and a large sharkmouth on the nose. Whichever markings you choose, you'll have a fearsome looking Harrier on your shelf!
