Description
This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The Los Angeles class of US Navy nuclear attack submarines is equipped for strike missions, anti-sub warfare, intelligence gathering, and search and rescue missions. There are 51 Los Angeles-class subs in the US inventory, 16 in the Pacific Fleet and 32 in the Atlantic Fleet. 110 meters long and displacing 6,927 tons submerged, the type was first commissioned in 1976.
This kit is of the USS Greenville, the submarine involved in the terrible accident with the Ehime Maru off the coast of Hawaii in 2001. The kit includes a 65-foot Advanced Seal Delivery System (ASDS) vehicle mounted on its back. Can be built in either a surfaced or submerged configuration. Also includes a base with stenciled name.
