The venerable Sherman tank was the backbone of the US forces in WWII, and was also supplied in great numbers to the rest of the Allies. Often outgunned and out-armored, it prevailed on the battlefield thanks to strategy and sheer numbers. Many variations appeared throughout the course of the war and beyond, with Shermans serving around the world decades after the war finished. This kit depicts the mid-production M4 75mm-gunned version of this great iconic tank.

Hobby Boss' new M4 is a bit of a mixed bag, combining decent, sharp molding with some unfortunate accuracy problems with details and dimensions. Hull angles and proportions are a bit off, and the same goes for the turret. Two sets of road wheels are included: six-spoked pressed and five-spoked open types. The great thing about this kit is the very nice detail. Tracks are provided as reasonably detailed black vinyl belts. Not a perfect Sherman kit, but the detail is quite well done, and in the end it certainly looks like a Sherman!
