1/20 McLaren Honda MP4/6 Japanese Grand Prix 1991 Skeleton Body

Fujimi keeps the F1 good times rolling with yet another great release! And this time it's not a Ferrari...it's the McLaren Honda MP4/6, as raced at the 1991 Japan Grand Prix. This dominant car won eight grand prix races in its career! The kit features fantastic detail (the engine is amazing!) and ease of assembly. Also included is a photo-etched metal detail set for the seatbelts, and a helpful pre-marked (but not pre-cut) self-adhesive mask for painting. Decals are provided for Ayrton Senna's second-place-finishing #1 car or Gerhard Berger's Grand Prix-winning #2 car. The black rubber racing slick tires are perfectly proportioned to the model, although the ribbed detailing on the sidewalls (see last photo on this page) is more reminiscent of Michelins than the Goodyear slicks they are meant to represent. We have contacted Fujimi directly about this, and they have assured us that the inclusion of these particular slicks in this kit is not a mistake, since they have included accurate Goodyear emblems for them. Hardcore modelers may want to check their spare parts boxes for absolutely accurate Goodyear-style slicks. Tire identity issues aside, this is an exquisite kit of an important car!

This release is a special clear body version of the McLaren MP4/6. Includes exploded-view pictorial-type instructions, with notes in Japanese.
