This item is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit. It requires both cement and painting to complete or use. 227 parts. 18.6cm long when completed.
The mother of all 1/48 Wuerger kits, part deux (sorry, "part zwei")! Eduard has really outdone itself with this kit. The level of detail in the cockpit, engine and gun bays pretty much precludes the need for any aftermarket parts. Prepainted photo-etched parts are included for the cockpit, with instrument and side panels (although the molding on the plastic side panels is superior, in my honest opinion), seatbelts and rudder pedals. The engine is a kit in itself, and deserves to be shown off by leaving the cowl panels off. Optional items are a drop tank or bomb for the centerline and W.Gr 21 rockets for under the wings. Decals are for four aircraft: "Black Double Chevron" as flown by Hptm. Walter Nowotny, commander of I./JG54; "White Double Chevron" as flown by Hptm. Egon Meyer, commander of III./JG2; "Yellow 7" flown by Uffz. Walter Koehneof 1./JG1; and "Black Chevron with Circle" flown by Oblt. Rolf Strohal of Stab I./JG1. Canopy and wheel masks are also included. When you consider all that is included in this box, the price is quite reasonable. It's unlikely you will find a kit as highly detailed as this one, and with as much in the box as we are given here, for less.
