Deployed during the '70s and '80s to replace the aging WWII-era destroyers the US Navy was still using, the Oliver Hazard Perry RAST-class missile frigates were built in large numbers and served in various navies around the world.
Pegasus-class hydrofoils were designed to operate offensively against hostile surface combatants and other surface craft, as well as conduct surveillance, screening and special operations.
Dragon has re-released its 1996 combo kit of these two surface ships, both sharply molded in gray styrene. Both ships can be modeled full-hull or waterline. The Perry-class USS Ingraham features a new hull design for the propulsion system and comes with an SH-60 Seahawk (unused Seaking also included) as well as a nice stand and nameplate. Markings are included for six different Perry-class US Navy boats and three Australian Navy boats. Markings are also included for three Pegasus-class hydrofoils. Also includes a very nice fret of photo-etched parts for the antennae, masts, rails, and other areas.
