Launched on June 20, 1982, the HMS York was the last of the batch three Type 42 destroyers built for the Royal Navy. Most recently the York joined HMS Gloucester (D96) in evacuating British citizens from Beirut in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict making several trips in and out Lebanon, ferrying evacuees to Cyprus.
Dragon's kit of the York is sharply molded in light gray styrene and includes photo-etched parts for railings, masts, radars, davits, and more. Markings included for the Manchester (D95), Gloucester (D96), Edinburgh (D97), and York (D98).
