1/35 US 29th Infantry Div. Omaha Beach

Althouth this kit is not part of the recent 60th Anniversary of the Normandy Campaign series, these figures depict soldiers of the US 29th Infantry Division, the spearhead of the D-Day landing at Omaha Beach. Six assaulting figures are in full combat gear with a gas detection brassard on their right sleeve (molded) -- proof of the US Army's deep concern about a possible chemical weapon counterattack by the Germans. Some figures are wearing special gas mask bags on their chests, and a flotation belt, the most distinctive equipment seen on D-Day. Rumples and gathers on the uniforms are beautifully molded. An excellent set to take the leading role in your Omaha Beach diorama!
