Often sailing with her sister ship the Gneisenau, the German battleship Scharnhorst was involved in many successful naval operations from 1939 to 1943. That success came to an end when the Scharnhorst was sunk by ships of the British Royal Navy during the Battle of North Cape on December 26, 1943.
This is Dragon's most ambitious ship kit yet! This all-newly-tooled kit of the German battleship Scharnhorst can be built as either a full-hull or waterline model, and depicts the ship as it appeared in 1943. Plenty of detail is packed into all the injection-molded plastic parts (this is one of Dragon's "Smart Kits," featuring the most detail for the least hassle!), which are further bolstered by several frets of photo-etched metal detail parts. Gun turrets can be built with or without the canvas blast bags. Amazing detail throughout, and a very welcome addition to the fleet of available 1/350-scale German naval subjects.
