Here's a real blast (off) from the past! This cool model kit of the Apollo Command Module and Lunar Module was first released in 1969 (the same year as Apollo 11, the first moon landing!), and now has been re-released by the fine folks at Aoshima. The well-detailed CM and LM can be mounted together on a stand with a nice moonscape base, and decals are included for both spacecraft and the base. Two suited-up astronaut figures are included. No scale is given for either model, but I would guesstimate based on the parts that the completed Command Module is about 7cm long, and the Lunar Module stands about 6cm tall. Aoshima warns that due to the age of the molds, the kit parts may have "burrs and scuffing," but all the parts looked fine to me, other than showing a wee bit of flash here and there. A great kit of a great subject!
