Product Description

This item is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

Based on the late model Tiger I and firing a massive 38cm rocket/mortar round, the Sturmtiger was primarily used as an assault vehicle to provide heavy fire support for infantry units in urban areas. The modifications needed to convert the Tiger I to this massive vehicle pushed the weight from the Tiger's 57 tons up to a hefty 68 tons. Only 18 of these beasts were ever built.

Following on the heels of its 1/35-scale big brother (linked below), AFV Club's 1/48-scale Sturmtiger kit features all the great detail you'd expect from this manufacturer. Zimmerit texture is not molded in, but AFV Club does supply serrated photo-etched "scrapers" and instructions how to use them to make your own zimmerit coating. Grab yours while the grabbin's good!
