This AIFV (Armored Infantry Combat Vehicle), known to the Dutch Army as YRP-765, was originally developed as the successor to the world best-selling M113 APC, in the late 1970's. It has a 25mm cannon in the small turret, and armor improved over that of the M113. In combat, the AIFV is inferior to the modern, more powerful ICVs (Infantry Combat Vehicle) such as the M2A2 Bradley and the BMP-3, which are equipped with larger cannon and anti-tank missiles; but its reasonable procurement cost is very attractive to the armies of smaller countries. AFV Club offers this interim AFV design in a high quality kit. The kit is thoroughly detailed and parts are molded very sharply. A photo-etched set for engine grilles and fuel can racks is included, too. Tracks (rubber belt type), drive sprocket and idler wheels match the US standard. To aim for more precision modelling, it is recommended to use the optional parts, 'M113(G) /NATO-Track' for the Dutch Army YPR-765 (sold separately as AFV35066). Four sets of decals for the Dutch Army are included; no figures included.
