Based on the late model Tiger I and firing a massive 38cm rocket/mortar round, the Sturmtiger was primarily used as an assault vehicle to provide heavy fire support for infantry units in urban areas. The modifications needed to convert the Tiger I to this massive vehicle pushed the weight from the Tiger's 57 tons up to a hefty 68 tons. Only 18 of these beasts were ever built.

AFV Club's Sturmtiger features all the great detail of its previous Tiger I Late kits, with the addition of the massive superstructure and 38cm rocket/mortar launcher with two types of mantlet. Torsion bar suspension is workable, and photo-etched parts are included (even the gun tube's rifling!).
