1/35 German 88mm AT Gun PAK43

The "Scheunentor" (German noun for barn door, The "Scheuntor"printed on the box is a typo) was produced quickly as a stopgap weapon. This powerful anti-tank gun was intended to be deployed quickly for the German Army; it was built up with a 10.5cm light howitzer carriage, 15cm heavy howitzer wheels and a long-barrel 88mm gun. AFV CLUB has reproduced these details with a combination of materials. The barrel is made of lathed aluminum; the solid rubber rim of the wheels is made of black rubber and the dust boots of the equilibrator are of black vinyl tubing. The most notable feature of this kit is the large pressed-brass gun shields, which were the origin of the gun's nickname. AFV CLUB has succeeded in recreating the spaced thin armor shields of the real gun with the metal parts set. The tiny spacing bolts are made of injection plastic parts. Great care and skill are required to cut the bolts from the sprues; but do not worry -- AFV CLUB has announced their plan to release lathed brass spacing bolts later. With all this talk of the metal parts, we forgot to mention that the quality of the injection plastic parts is breathtaking, too! This superb kit is highly recommended, not only for ordnance enthusiasts but also for all model lovers!!
