1/72 F-8E Crusader

Academy's long-awaited Crusader is here! Fans of "The Last Gunfighter" have waited years for a new, state-of-the-art 1/72 kit, and here it is! Incase you are wondering, YES it has been worth the wait! This kit features fine recessed panel line detail, realistic raised cockpit and wheelwell detail (decals also included for the cockpit panels), intake trunking, a wing that can be displayed in the raised position (a first in 1/72!) with full detailing in the bay under the wing, an optional position speedbrake (another first!), beautifully done landing gear and a selection of armament that includes 4 Sidewinders, 4 twin-pod Zuni rockets, 2 MERs and 8 Mk. 82 "Snakeyes". Optional pylons are included for the fuselage stations for either single or dual Sidewinder/Zuni pod carriage. Markings are for 2 USMC Crusaders (sorry Navy!): DN 7 of VMF(AW)-333 "Fighting Shamrocks" and WT 14 of VMF(AW)-232 "Red Devils". In yet ANOTHER wonderful touch, the very complete decals include the thin yellow canopy framing seen around the plexiglass on these aircraft! An outstanding and HIGHLY recommended kit for all Navy jet fans.
