This kit is for a 20mm-armed P-51 in USAAC markings as used in the North African campaign. While lacking the high-altitude performance of their later Merlin-engined siblings, Allison-engined Mustangs were used right up to the end of the war as low- to medium-level fighter/attack aircraft, and excelled in that environment. Their pilots considered the low-altitude performance of the Allison engine to be far superior to that of the Merlin, as well as superior to that of many German types, and continued to score kills over Europe right up to the end of the war. Here is your chance to add a vital member of the Mustang family to your 1/72 pony stable.
