Garage kits are those primarily resin and soft vinyl kits that are produced in "somebody's garage," i.e. a very small company usually only staffed by a handful of people. Most items from firms like this are only produced once, and even if there is a second production run, we almost never get any information about when that will take place.
If you place an order for an item like this and our online order status system tells you it is backordered, give us a couple of weeks or so to check our distributors for additional stock. If, however, your backorder on such an item continues for more than a few weeks, you should probably consider giving up, or looking elsewhere for the item. Remember, HobbyLink Japan is happy to follow backorders for customers for months, so there is no need for you to cancel an order with us unless you find it someplace else first. If we become convinced that more stock is going to be impossible to find, we will change the item's status in our catalog to out-of-production.
